Skyline Chili introduces meat-free menu item
Skyline Chili, a chain of chili restaurants based in Cincinnati, Ohio, has introduced a meat-free menu item during this Lenten season.
According to the company, the new item - Greek Pasta Bowl - is a warm, meatless pasta dish, which includes signature Skyline Chili Greek salad ingredients, including kalamata olives, tomatoes, pepperoncinis, feta cheese and Greek dressing.
Skyline Chili director of marketing Sarah Lapham said the company wanted to offer its customers who forgo meat for Lent a menu item that they can still enjoy at Skyline locations.
"This dish grew from a test-and-learn with a few select franchisees, and customers really seemed to love it," Lapham added.
The new menu item is available till 9 April at Skyline Chili locations in Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Dayton and Columbus. The dish is available in small and regular sizes.
Skyline Chili operates more than 100 restaurants in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and Florida. The restaurant's menu features signature dishes including cheese coneys, a hot dog topped with Skyline Chili, mustard, onions, and cheese; 3-ways, spaghetti topped with Skyline Chili and cheese; 4-ways, choice of beans or onions added; and 5-ways, beans and onions both added.
